What’s the name for the pin that the boom of a crane pivots on?

At the base of the boom of a crane, a pin supports and boom and allows the boom to move up and down. It bears a lot of stress! What’s the name for that part?

    Its generally called: the pin.

    Yes, there probably is a more technical name for it, but ironworkers and operators will always refer to it as simply “the pin.”

    On shipboard gantry cranes it is sometimes referred to as a hinge pin
