…and have very light bones. Nordic people & Islanders, obviously, are NATURALLY very big. Those types all usually on average have very thick necks, wrists & ankles and thick waists. Not necessarily fat, but thick. My uncle is 6’2″, isn’t fat at all, doesn’t look nearly as muscular as these guys, yet is & has always been a natural 235 lbs. Weight can be deceptive. You probably have a natural disposition, like myself, to not look ‘jacked’ but still weigh a fair bit :)

He probably has light bone structure. You do realise most bodybuiders, would be very light men if they didn’t build muscle. My muscle isn’t traditionally as ‘pumped up’ as these guys, but I guarantee I outweigh them by 70-80 lbs. I was already 225 lbs by 14 at only 5’10″ max. I’m 30, still 5’10″, but now 260 lbs solid. 280 when I let myself go. Yet given my cultural background has a strong Nordic influence (German/Austrian) I have heavier bones than these guys who are most likely pure Britons…

These fellas are on the juice. Big traps, biceps, tiriceps, but skinny little neck, ankles & wrists. True powerlifters/strongmen have rounder physiques, with massive necks like buffalos or bulls & very wide circumference of the wrists & ankles. Real ‘true’ big men.
And this ain’t a powerlifting routine. It’s a modified routine for bodybuilders, retaining the high reps/low weight for vascular & muscle definition. Most powerlifters don’t give a flying fuck what they look like, they just lift BIG!!

Louie Simmons squats 900+ pounds and has trained some of the best powerlifters on this planet. He’s also the creator of Westside Barbell. I have never even heard of Mike O Hearn having anything to do with powerlifting until today anyways.

Ok but we have to compare apples to apples. Most bodybuilders that have been seriously training 5 years or so, and I’m talking the ones that are jacked – can all bench over 450 and squat upwards of 500lbs. But most don’t deadlifts or do Olympic lifts. It’s about looking massive and ripped onstage. It’s a form of modeling in a way. Put them through a year of Olympic lifting and I’m sure they’ll get respectable fairly quick. Especially juicing up the way some do :)

the same for me sadly: i ve got 40cm biceps(tape around the biceps method) but i struggle doing more than 13Kg bicep curls up to 12…. i get to 8 max. again the theory of size and strength being developed differently comes into play. there’s not a only side development, but surely being big means not being strong, neither the opposite, there’s a considerable gain, but the main remains on the specific training target.
