A 1000-W motor power a hoist used to lift cars at a service station?

A 1000-W motor power a hoist used to lift cars at a service station. How much time would it take to raise a 1,200kg car 2m? If it is replaced with a 2,000W motor, how long would it take?

    P=W/t
    W=1200*9.8*2=23520 J
    t1=W/P=23520J/1000W=23.52 sec
    t2=W/P=23520J/2000W=11.76 sec

    t = W/P = mgh/1000 = (1200)(9.81)(2)/1000 = 23.5 seconds

    2000W motor would do it in half the time, 11.8 seconds.
